He retired as an Executive Engineer from General Motors after 40+ years of service at the Milford Proving Grounds and Warren Tech Center. Jim spent his younger years on Long Lake in Union Lake, MI, and as an adult he maintained his love of the water. He spent many summers at his home away from home on Bass Lake in Pentwater, MI with Rayola, their family, and their dogs. He and Rayola attended the Church of Christ in Brighton and Ludington. Jim is survived and loved well by his children Lorianne (Steve) Gallagher, Margie (John) Doherty, Karen Byrne, Kari Fedewa (Ayoub Bouchkouj), and Steve (Taylor) Fedewa, grandchildren Chris, James, Alison (Chad), Adam, Noah, and Scarlett, great grandchildren Norah and Briggs, many nieces, nephews and their families, sisters Barbara Wilson of Florida, Patricia (Tom) Vander Velde of Waterford, and the loving and caring staff at Vicinia Gardens and The Medical Team’s Hospice Care group. He joins his parents, sister Carol, and beloved wife Rayola for a great heavenly reunion. A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10AM immediately followed by coffee, pastries, and conversation at Church on the Street, 15113 Seymour Rd, Linden, MI 48451. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association at www.lbda.org/donate.

Mr. Jim... we couldn't have done it without you.

When I was left alone with my three little children, Jim would get up at the crack of dawn each school day and drive to my house so I could leave for work - at 6 a.m. He did this willingly for years, rain or shine, sleet or snow. He was a constant stable presence in my young children's lives, evidence to them that they were being taken care of and that everything was going to be all right.

Jim, I can never repay you for what you gave to my children, and to me. I thank God for you. You were such a blessing to all of us.

I cannot help but notice that on the day the memorial service will be going on, my oldest son will be getting married. And I cannot help but feel that Jim had a part in getting him to this point in his life.

Thank you, Jim

~John Theisen
