Frances Biess

Mrs. Frances A. Biess age 94 went to be with the Lord on February 27, 2018. She is the beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Biess. Dear mother of Renee (Joel) Roberts and Andrea (Lester) Gitre. Loving grandma of Delaney Roberts, Lester Gitre III and Kelly Roberts. Sister of Leonard (Janice) Bryzek and Ethel (the late Don) Wegienek. Frances also leaves many nieces and nephews. Frances was born in Dearborn, Michigan; the daughter of Polish immigrants, Frank & Mary Bryzek. She was proud of her heritage and enjoyed living in the Dearborn community. Frances married the love of her life, Bob Biess on Sweetest Day in 1947. Together they enjoyed raising two daughters and eventually were blessed with three grandchildren. Family was so important to Frances and she loved every second of it. She and Bob built their dream retirement home "up north" on Lake Shannon and were able to spend many happy years there together." She loved gardening and landscaping around her home. If given the chance, Frances could eat tomatoes for every meal. She loved large family gatherings, especially hosting. In typical Polish fashion, there would always be an abundance of kielbasa, kapusta and galumpki. Christmas usually called for marathon pierogi making. Her love of Christ and her passion for singing, lead Frances to a life time of choir singing, including St. John’s Choir and Ford Motor Company Choir. She also had a thirst for knowledge and would tune in to CNN or cooking shows as well as read her many books to learn more information. Her zest for life and love for all will be deeply missed. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 5, 11am at St. John’s Catholic Church, 600 North Adelaide St., Fenton. Friends may visit on Sunday 4-7pm at Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main St., Fenton and on Monday 10am until the time of service at church. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Contributions may be made to her family C/O Renee Roberts.

How lucky to have had her as my Godmother. She was a positive influence in my life, and a role model for me as an Auntie. Holding sweet memories close in my heart. Renee, Andrea and family, you do not grieve alone.

Our paths crossed for just a moment in time but nevertheless those moments will never be forgotten. Her genuine love for God, family and people was unmistakably witnessed in the warmth of her ready smile. We will miss her but Heaven rejoices in receiving another Daughter of the Most High. Her legacy will live on in memories and through those she loved because God's Love never ends.
