Rose, I so enjoyed the times we spent in Diet Workshop and going to Baker College together. I have often thought of you over the years. Doug and family, may you feel God’s love during this time of loss.

~Judie Book

Part of my heart has broken with this news. You are and always will be one of the best people I have ever worked with or known. My life is richer because you were in it. Our school is a special place for kids because of your smile (and hugs and stuffed animals:) which made all feel welcome, accepted and loved. You gave us all the confidence and support to feel as if we could accomplish anything.

Love you Rose. God's strength to Doug, the kids, and the Tomek family during this time. We have lost a treasure but her legacy will live on in all of us. Wish I could have seen the joyous reunion in heaven with Chris. God must have needed some more guidance as now he has two of the best!

It was so sad to hear the passing of our classmate and friend, Rose. She was such a good part of the class of 1969 in Fenton; and always was a bright spot in our class. It was such a shock to hear this news but do know we are all thinking and praying for all of you!

~Janet Wickman Wicks

Shocked is all I can say, bet my late wife was there to greet her when she arrived. To Doug, Cory & Chad, I grieve for your loss, it hurts me, brings back memories of losing my wife, her & Rose were like sisters, many thought they were. When you see a star covered sky look up, it's holes in the floor of heaven so our loved ones can see us. Look up & wave, she was a special lady

~Randy Cronk

From my first day walking into Tomek, Rose made me feel welcome. She had a special gift for making every person she met feel special. She became “Mom Rose” and she was part of so many wonderful memories. I will miss her dearly.

~Amy Ashley

You were always the highlight of my morning at Tomek. You touched so many families and kids and we are better people because of you. I'm sad for our loss but glad you are not suffering. God has a plan and while we hurt here, I'm thankful you are pain free. You always gave the best hugs and I will always remember how you touched my life as a Tomek kid! All my love!

~Angie (Hathaway) Common

You and I cried through the tough times and laughed through the joy. I loved sharing Nora and Grady with you at our lunches at Johnnies. Losing you will leave an empty place in my heart until we meet again. Love you always.

Rose was just a warm smile everyday that I walked into Tomek! Some days she would be waiting at the door to give me a big hug and that just made my day! I will miss her smile and her kindness! From being my neighbor on Wass street and the welcoming smile at tomek I will miss her so very much!! You and Chris behave up there now! Spread your wings and fly!

~Heather Brown

Rose “ Mrs. Crane” was one of the first faces we saw every morning when we walked through the doors of Tomek Eastern Elementary. She always had a smile and would answer any question ( no matter how silly it seemed) my daughter and I had! She was one of the “ office ladies” during my daughter’s time at Tomek. Prayers for her family and friends as their angel ascends to Heaven.

~Lisa Pearson

Oh Rose, such a special person you were. I could always lean on you and trust your loyalty to the ends of the earth. You made our Tomek Eastern family complete. Your smile, your laughter, your kindness were overflowing. You are now with your fellow angels. Peace and love to your family. Love you forever.

~Sue Dinse

Rose loved without judgement and with abandon. Her spirit of love and acceptance filled all who met and knew her. I will miss your sweet smile and ready hugs - may we continue on in your absence, loving those we meet with the same acceptance and ready embrace. We are all better for having known you, Rose! God's Peace, comfort and love to Doug, Chad, Cory and all who called Rose family.

You were such an amazing woman. I think of your familys heartbreak right now and it makes me sad because we need a bright light like you or mom (Chris Cronk). I hope you two have found each other and find happiness as you both deserve eternal happiness. Thank you for providing unlimited comfort and selflessness Rose you were an example for everyone. I swear you were my second biggest fan from ambassadors and cheering me on for my first applefest 10k. The hole in our hearts will never fully heal but we will continue to learn from your kindness. I can only hope to be half the wonderful presence you brought during your time here with us. Again you were truly amazing.

~Kathryn Bellamy

Sorry for your loss. A wonderful person to work with at Tomek.

~Dick Schumacher

I will always remember Rose's wonderful hugs and smile...welcoming our Kids Hope mentors. My favorite memory is her always telling me I was her "favorite baby sitter" ! She must have been 8 and I was 12, so I was more like a playmate than a sitter. Love you forever Rose...until we meet again in His heavenly home??

~Noreen Pillen Wood

I have so many gleeful memories of my cousin Rose. We saw so much of each other thru the family Holidays, school hallways, Weddings, Baby Showers. Rosie & Leo were my best Blessings for Cousins. Our birth order was Rose, me & Leo. Her eyes were always full of twinkles of joy. Never a cross word. I love Rose with a whole heart. I'm always going to miss her until I see her again. I will think of you often Rosie.

~Claudia Doan Schmidt

Roses smile lit up the room, her hug made you feel warm and welcomed. Rose had one of the most kind hearts imaginable. When my Kindergarteners were sent down to the office with a boo-boo for a bandaid or ice Rose would stop whatever she was doing, wipe their tears and make them feel incredibly important and very special. The kids would come back with a genuine smile. she took care of all of us. Although Rose has been retired for a few years, she will forever be one of the incredible "heart-beats" of Tomek-Eastern elementary. She was instrumental in making it the amazing caring school that it is today. Thank you Rose for making such a positive difference in so many hearts and minds. God Bless You. May your soul rest peacefully.

Rachel and I offer our condolences to Doug and his family.. We are sorry we weren't able to pay our respects but Rachel and I have been on the sick side for over a week.. We didn't know Rose well and had met her on several occasions. She was a very nice friendly lady.. God bless the Crane family..

~Ben and Rachel Diaz

Rose initially started her career at Tome-Eastern Elementary as a mom volunteer, and move into the staff where she spent over 20 years affecting the lives of so many other staff members and children. Rose presented herself as a role model for others that would follow in her footsteps as an education advocate. Rose exhibited this wonderful quality of, "seeing the best in others!" Rose will be missed.

~Duane LaGuire-Quinn

Dear Family - I wanted to say how sorry I am for your loss. In the difficult days ahead I hope happy memories will help and comfort you. At Revelation 21:4 is recorded the promise that soon “death will be no more”. Hope for the future when we see our loved ones again can help us endure these times. JW.org for has more comforting information.
