Dora Donnelly

Dora N. Donnelly, age 92, of Fenton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 16th, 2010 at Fenton Extended Care. Dora was born in 1918 to Alfred and Gertrude (nee: Beane) Nelson in Chase, Michigan, the youngest of four children. Her mother, sister Elvina and brother Royal preceded her in death during the influenza epidemic in 1918. She then grew up with her brother Raymond. Dora attended school in Chase, Reed City and at Mt. Pleasant College (CMU) and later attended Cosmetology School in Flint. She left Chase to seek her fortune, landing a job at Buick’s employment office. She met, and in 1945, married Ronald Z. Wolfrgam (a farmer from Minnesota) where they lived and had three children, Lois N, (Myron) Thompson. Keith R.(Deena) Wolfgram and Gene A.(Christine) Wolfgram. Ronald had a fatal tractor accident and Dora returned to Michigan. Dora married Herbert H. Donnelly in 1958 in Davison. Together they had a son, Dale H. (Andrea) Donnelly. She also had a stepson Robert. Herbert preceded her in death in 1983. Dora attended church wherever she lived and served by sharing her talent as a pianist, most recently at Arbela Methodist Church in Millington and at House of Prayer in Grand Blanc. She loved scrap booking, recording family history, long before it became popular. Dora is survived by her sons; nine grandchildren, Robyn(Doug) Moore, Gary (Lynne) Thompson, Heidi (Casey) Duffy, Ronald (Sara) Wolfgram, Marie Wolfgram, Andrew (Lisa) Wolfgram, Jon Donnelly, Peter Wolfgram and Conor Wolfgram; ten great grandchildren, Lynlee, Gavin, Drew, Dylan, Madison, Grace, Gena, Maxwell, Samuel and Audrey; step grandchildren, Merriam (Dustin) Foriska and son Jordan, Micah Boerger and Merri Jo Boerger. She was preceded in death also, by her father, brother Raymond, stepson Bob, daughter in law Connie and daughter Lois. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, 1:30pm, at the Temrowski Family Funeral Home, 500 Main St., Fenton. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8pm at the funeral home.

My husband and I would like to convey our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of your beloved Dora. We wanted to share with you something that brought us comfort at a similar time in our lives. John 11:14-44 shows us a wonderful example of what is to come- the resurrection-, when Jesus resurrected Lazarus, here on earth, before the very eyes of those he loved. We can only imagine the tears of joy when we too, are reunited with our dear loved ones again. (John 5:28,29) Dora will surely be missed by those who's lives she touched, remember the experiences you shared together and learn from them, hold them dear to your hearts and cherish them. May you find comfort from your own personal copy of the scriptures and those who surround you at this very difficult time. Our sincere condolences to all of you.
